About me

In sixth grade, I brought my father’s Nikon to school and took photos of my classmates. I still have those first images of Chris, and Brett, and of our English teacher burnt into my mind.

Writing has been my emotional and intellectual outlet ever since I could use the pen. My first written and spoken words were in Indonesian; English has since become my mother tongue.

One of the hardest questions for me to answer is ‘Where are you from?’ I was born in Indonesia, and raised there as well as in Tokyo, Japan and Los Angeles, California. I had the pleasure of spending a year in Austria, divided between the scenic towns of Altmünster and Graz, and have also enjoyed living and working in Munich, Germany, as a communications professional for 18 years.

Being in the tri-state area has given me the incentive and inspiration to  experiment and be more creative, and I plan to do more projects over the next couple of years, some of which I will publish here.
